This panel, co-sponsored by the Aestheticism & Decadence Caucus, the Art History Caucus, and the journal Cusp: Late 19^th-/Early 20^th-Century Cultures, will allow for thinking across national and disciplinary boundaries as well as boundaries of periodization by attending to the theorization of disability in literature and culture at the turn of the century. Participants will have the opportunity to annotate and engage with short pieces from a forthcoming disability studies cluster to be published in Cusp as well as visual works connected to the essays.
